Can I install Win 7 alongside Win 8?

Can I install Win 7 alongside Win 8?

I have Win 8 as an existing platform . Can I use Windows 7 UPGRADE to
install win 7 alongside 8? It's really important that I can dual boot and
not put win 7 in place of win 8.
